Hello World!
My name is Rubem, and I am a twenty-year-old law student based in Vienna, Austria.
I'm passionate about technology and having control over it. That's why I use open-source software and run my own website. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or need help. I would be more than happy to lend a hand!
I play two instruments. I have played the cello since first grade but stopped taking lessons in 2023 to receive piano lessons instead. My favorite composers are Mozart, Chopin and Oscar Peterson. My mother gave me a ukulele for Christmas a few years ago, and I play it occasionally for fun.
Typically, I don't do much "for fun." Most of my leisure activities involve practicing something one way or another. I'm obsessed with investing time and energy to do something well so that it becomes more fun in the future. This often results in my moving the goalpost higher, meaning I either become quite productive or lose motivation along the way. Have you heard of vim-motions? It's worth it if you practice, I promise.
I enjoy writing in my free time, whether in a personal journal or creating documentation. I'm still working on a never ending project I call house documentation, where I document every item in my home along with its metadata and location. Depending on how much I plan to write, I use Neovim or Obsidian. I value minimalism, which is why I do everything I can in Markdown.
Saying hello to the world is not easy. I tried to cover a broad range of subjects, but I have much more to say! If you're interested, check out my other posts.
